LNER is telling passengers to avoid travel north of Newcastle starting at 11 am on Friday. They’re working on updating their timetable, but it’s best to stay put.

Lumo passengers should also think twice about traveling north of Newcastle. They’re echoing LNER’s advice to stay home.

In a statement, Lumo said, “Due to Storm Éowyn, we strongly advise against traveling north of Newcastle.” They’re allowing customers to use their tickets on different days without extra fees.

Just a heads up, Lumo services will be busy on those days. You might have to stand for part of your journey. They can’t guarantee seat reservations, but they’ve added some unreserved seating.
