Craster: A popular Northumberland pub is getting ready for a busy Valentine’s Day. The Jolly Fisherman has been named one of the UK’s most romantic restaurants.

As February 14 approaches, many are looking for the perfect date night spot. If you want something different, consider The Jolly Fisherman. It’s now in the top 100 romantic restaurants in the UK.

This list comes from OpenTable, just in time for Valentine’s Day 2025. The Jolly Fisherman joins two Newcastle restaurants and The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh.

The pub offers stunning sea views, delicious food, and great ales. The owners describe it as a charming, historic pub with stone floors and cozy seating.

In winter, you can enjoy a warm fire, and in summer, the beer garden offers amazing views. Masterchef judge John Torode is a fan, having visited the pub recently.

He first tried their crab sandwiches 20 years ago and returned with an ITV crew. The pub shared his visit on Facebook, highlighting local seafood.

John’s visit wasn’t the only time the pub attracted TV attention. The Antiques Roadshow also stopped by in 2018 during filming.
