Craster, a Northumberland village, now enjoys mobile coverage thanks to Virgin Media O2’s new mast, enhancing connectivity for residents and visitors alike.
Craster: A coastal village in Northumberland just got mobile coverage. Virgin Media O2 installed a new mast, and it’s a big deal for everyone.
Before this, Craster had no mobile signal at all. Now, both locals and visitors can enjoy reliable connectivity. This is great news for everyone!
The new mast covers the entire village and even reaches Dunstanburgh Castle, a popular spot nearby. This will improve the experience for the 250,000 visitors who come each year.
With 4G now available, Craster will soon get fiber lines for faster 5G service. This upgrade is expected later this year.
Virgin Media O2 teamed up with Atlas Tower Group to make this happen. The local community, including councils and groups, is thrilled about the new coverage.
Steven Verigotta from Virgin Media O2 said this project is part of their commitment to better rural connectivity. He believes it will greatly benefit visitors and local businesses.
Northumberland County Councillor Wendy Pattison also expressed her excitement. She noted that this improvement will positively impact everyone in the area.
Resident Margaret Brooks shared her thoughts too. She sees the mast as a vital resource for the community, making daily life easier for everyone.
