A new Co-op store in North Tyneside opens tomorrow, creating 14 jobs and offering various services for local shoppers.
North Tyneside: A new Co-op convenience store is set to open tomorrow. It’s located on the Persimmon Homes Fallow Park Estate.
This store is one of 75 new locations the Co-op plans to open this year. The store is near Rising Sun Country Park in Wallsend.
North Tyneside Council approved the store despite mixed feelings from residents. The new store will create 14 local jobs and has customer parking and an electric vehicle charging point.
It will also feature Costa Coffee Express, payment services via PayPoint, and an InPost locker for parcel collection. Shoppers can order through Deliveroo, making it a convenient spot for quick deliveries.
Michael Dewison, the store manager, is excited to welcome the community. He emphasized the store’s role in supporting local life.
In addition to the new stores, the Co-op plans major refurbishments for up to 80 existing locations this year. The goal is to make Co-op stores easily accessible for everyone.
The East Benton Co-op will be open daily from 6 am to 10 pm.
