Darlington: Four pubs in the North East are gearing up for a darts competition. They want to find the next big star, just like Luke Littler.

Players like Callan Rydz and Chris Dobey have made waves. Glen Durrant, a Premier League champ, praised the North East’s darts scene. He feels like everyone is part of one big family.

Phil Taylor, a 16-time world champion, loves the North East fans. He says they create an amazing atmosphere at events.

The competition format is simple: best-of-three legs, best-of-501. It kicked off on January 6 and runs until February 7. Each week, two players will move on to their pub’s final.

By the end, there will be eight finalists. The pub finals happen the week of February 10. Winners will head to regional finals the following week.

Across the country, nine regional finals will take place. The top four from each will compete in the National Final on March 2 in Greater Manchester. The winner gets £1,000!

The four pubs in the North East are Rosies Tavern and Turks Head in Darlington, Royal George Tavern in Shildon, and Spring Gardens in North Shields.

If you want to join in, reach out to your local Proper Pub. It’s a fun way to show off your darts skills and maybe even win big!
