A major snow blizzard is set to hit the North East on February 11, bringing heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures across the UK, with some areas facing severe conditions.

This storm will bring cold air from the Arctic. Weather maps show that most of the UK will see snow. The North East will be affected, with some areas getting heavy snowfall.
Only Northern Ireland and the South West of England might avoid the snow. Some places could see up to 5cm of snow per hour. The Scottish Highlands might get as much as 21cm.

England and northwest Wales will also face heavy rain. The Met Office warns of wet weather, especially in the north. Strong winds may accompany the rain.
In the rest of the UK, the weather should be more settled. There might be some rain, but plenty of dry weather is expected. Winds will be lighter, leading to frost and fog overnight.
