Cork City Fire Brigade introduces a new command unit featuring a remote-controlled firefighting robot for enhanced emergency response.
The mobile command unit is packed with features. It has wifi, high-end cameras, and even a mini workstation. They showed it off on social media, and it’ll be ready for action soon.
The back of the van holds a special compartment for their ‘mini firefighting tank’. This remote-controlled robot, called the ‘Avenger Fire’, is pretty impressive. It was made by a local tech company that works with emergency services.
The Avenger Fire can pump out 2,000 litres of water per minute. That’s perfect for putting out fires and stopping them from spreading. Plus, it has a two-way audio system and a powerful zoom camera.
The team has been using this robot for years. Believe it or not, it’s controlled with a Playstation 4 controller! With the new command unit, it’ll be easier to take it to different incidents around the city.
This robot helps protect firefighters who face danger every day. Just this month, they tackled some serious fires, including one at a popular bakery. They even rescued a family dog from a house fire last weekend, and thankfully, the pup is recovering well.
