A popular Gateshead pub, known for its role in Vera, will host Dick Valentine soon. The Electric Six frontman will perform songs from his new acoustic album.
Gateshead: A well-known pub is getting ready for a special event. It was renamed for the TV show Vera last year. Now, it will host a solo gig by Dick Valentine, the frontman of Electric Six.
In summer 2003, the pub was featured in Vera. Brenda Blethyn and David Leon filmed scenes there. The pub closed for filming and was called The Griffin for the show.
The plot involved a murder mystery, with secrets about a victim named Gabi. The pub’s interior and exterior appeared on screen, adding to the drama.
Now, The Central will welcome Dick Valentine for an acoustic performance. He’ll showcase his new album, Destroy the Children. Fans can expect a fun evening filled with music and interaction.
One excited fan called the news about Dick’s gig “the best news ever.”
