Sunderland: A woman was attacked after making a joke about her horse. It all started at a beer garden where she was having a good time.

She joked that her horse should have won a competition. But that didn’t sit well with Chloe Blanckley, who got offended. Things quickly escalated into a nasty argument.

Patrick Stokes, Blanckley’s partner, threw a drink at her and used her own horse whip against her. After they left the pub, the victim confronted them outside. That’s when Stokes knocked her down.

Blanckley held her down while Stokes kicked her in the face. It was brutal, and the whole thing was caught on CCTV. The woman ended up with serious injuries, including fractures to her eye socket.

She needed surgery and has been struggling ever since. In her statement, she shared how the attack changed her life. She feels anxious and scared to go out alone now.

Both Blanckley and Stokes pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. Blanckley received a suspended sentence, while Stokes was sentenced to over two years in prison.

It’s a sad reminder of how quickly a joke can turn into something terrible.
