A black and white lurcher was found chained and starving in Cork city, two weeks after being stolen from an animal shelter. Gardaí are investigating the theft.
Cork City: A dog was found chained up on wasteland. It had been missing for two weeks. The black and white lurcher was stolen from an animal shelter in County Cork.
Gardaí discovered the dog during a search. It was in a distressing state, with no food or water. Thankfully, the dog has been moved to a safe place and is now getting proper care.
Gardaí are looking into the theft. They shared on social media that the dog is now receiving food, water, and plenty of belly rubs. The investigation continues to find out what happened.
This isn’t the first time dogs have been found in distress. Last year, a dog was found chained with her puppies in West Cork. In another case, a woman in Ballincollig was reunited with her dog after it was stolen from her car.
In 2023, a man in Portugal discovered his husky had been smuggled from Ireland. He started an international search to find the original owners.
