Seaham: A big landslide just happened at Seaham Hall Beach. Tons of rock fell from the cliffs onto the beach. It all started crumbling on Tuesday. By midday, huge chunks crashed down.

An eyewitness caught it on video while walking their dog. They shared it online to warn others. They really want people to be careful near the cliffs.

The eyewitness said they’ve never seen a landslide this big before. They were relieved no one was nearby. They mentioned that many folks look for sea glass and might not notice the danger.

Brian Weatherall from Durham County Council said over 10,000 tonnes of limestone fell. This happened about a kilometer north of Seaham, close to Sunderland.

He explained that the erosion is part of what makes this area special. Thankfully, landslides like this are rare. But he advised everyone to stay away from the cliff edges.
