The One Stop shop in Prudhoe had to close for repairs after a gritter hit it, but it’s now back open for business.
The incident took place on January 5. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but the building needed some repairs. It finally reopened on January 15, much to everyone’s relief.
The council explained that their gritters were working around the clock due to the icy weather. They were trying to keep the roads safe during that cold snap.
A spokesperson mentioned they’re looking into how the accident happened. They’re also working with their insurance team to sort things out.
One Stop reassured everyone that no staff or customers were harmed. They just wanted to make sure everything was safe before reopening.
Councillor Gordon Stewart expressed his happiness that the shop is back open. He knows how much the community relies on it.
