Cork jockey Gearoid Harney is recovering well after a fall at Fakenham racecourse, with hopes for a quick return home.
Luckily, Micronormous was fine, but Harney was rushed to the hospital. The last race had to be called off because there wasn’t enough medical help available.
Trainer David Pipe shared some good news about Harney. He said, “Thanks for all the kind wishes. Gearoid is battered and bruised but is doing okay.”
Harney might even get to leave the hospital soon. He’s been in touch with his family, and they’re all hopeful.
Just a few days before, he had a close call at Market Rasen. He narrowly avoided a serious accident while jogging on the track.
Harney has been doing well since moving to the UK in 2021, with 21 wins under his belt. The stewards are looking into the fall at Fakenham, but they couldn’t talk to him right after the incident.
Overall, it sounds like he’s on the mend, and we’re all wishing him a speedy recovery.
