Swalwell: Recently, there have been some alarming incidents. Police were called to three separate blade attacks in just three days. It all happened in Gateshead, and folks are understandably worried.

The first incident took place on a Saturday night. A man in his 20s was hurt on Coalway Lane North. Thankfully, his injuries weren’t life-threatening. But the attackers ran off before the police got there.

Then, on Monday evening, the police were back at the same spot. This time, a woman in her 40s had also been injured. Again, the offenders had fled before help arrived. It seems these two cases might be connected, as those involved are believed to know each other.

A 28-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on bail. The police are still looking into it, trying to piece everything together. They want to reassure the community that there’s no wider threat to public safety.

On Sunday, things got a bit more chaotic. Police were called again after a group of young people got into a fight on Hexham Road. A 15-year-old boy ended up with a non-life-threatening arm injury and was taken to the hospital. A 14-year-old boy was arrested but also released on bail.

The police are urging anyone with information to reach out. They’re keeping a close eye on the area, increasing patrols to help everyone feel safer. If you have any tips, you can contact them through social media or call 101.
