A person was seriously injured after being struck by a train in Northumberland, causing major disruptions to train services in the area.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near Acklington Railway Station around 8 am. Paramedics arrived quickly, and the injured person was airlifted to the hospital. Thankfully, authorities say the incident isn’t suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokesperson confirmed they were called at 7:42 am. They reported that the person was taken to the hospital with injuries that could change their life.
The North East Ambulance Service also responded, sending multiple vehicles and a specialist team. They worked alongside the Great North Air Ambulance Service to ensure the patient received urgent care.
Train operator LNER reached out on social media, offering support to anyone affected by the incident. They encouraged people to talk to someone if they needed help.
