Sue got Mouse after lockdown, wanting a dog for company. Her sister had a greyhound before, but Sue initially wanted a smaller dog. None felt quite right.
Sue met several dogs at the rescue. Then she saw Mouse and knew she was the one. Sue took Mouse home that day.
Mouse had just finished racing, with over 60 races. Mouse changed Sue’s life completely, and Sue wanted to give her the best life.
Mouse loves people, Sue said, and has been a therapy dog. Sue can’t imagine life without her. Mouse’s health issues started in November, likely from racing.
Mouse got sick suddenly, with a fever and a limp. Mouse was then hospitalized for treatment. She had osteoarthritis and cellulitis, and doctors removed a tumor from her back.
Her hock became unstable after surgery, and her back right leg worsened a lot. Mouse needs surgery to fix it. Doctors will insert a metal plate, which will help her leg work.
Sue already spent her insurance limit, over seven thousand pounds. Now, she wants to raise money privately for Mouse’s vital surgery. Asking for money was a hard decision. She is Mouse’s custodian and must do all she can for her.
Many people love Mouse very much; she has a great fan club locally. Sue is amazed by their support. This is about Mouse having a good life, and Sue wants to look after her well. Mouse is a great pet and Sue loves her.
