Police got tips about an IP address. It was downloading bad images. This happened in May and July of last year. Police went to Thompson’s house in August. They arrested the 63-year-old man. Cops found many videos and pictures. They found them on his devices. This included phones, a laptop, and USB drives.
They discovered 83,000 more bad pictures. The prosecutor said Thompson shared images. He did this with a woman online. These illegal acts happened between 2014 and 2024.
Thompson’s lawyer said he got the images. He takes 25 pills daily for health problems. He rarely leaves his house. He had no prior criminal record. Thompson said lockdown started things. The images became a daily escape.
He cared for his mother for ten years. She died last August. He feels sorry for what he did. The judge noted his full confession. She said kids suffer to make these images.
She stated their pain is unimaginable. He fueled that suffering. The judge suspended his jail time. He received a 20-month suspended sentence. He must attend therapy programs for 31 sessions. He also has monitoring and rehab. He also has a 10-year prevention order. His devices were seized.
