Wetherspoon pubs in the North East are celebrating Burns Night with a special menu featuring haggis and a unique double burger
Newcastle: Wetherspoon pubs in the North East are gearing up for Burns Night. They’re adding some tasty dishes to their menu. Think traditional haggis and a Scotland-inspired double burger.
This year, they’re celebrating for a whole week! The fun kicks off on January 22 and runs until January 28. It’s all about honoring the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns, who was born on January 25, 1759.
During this week, you can enjoy a special menu and some great drink offers. The haggis meal starts at just £7.49, and you can pair it with a soft drink or an alcoholic one. There’s even a smaller version for those with a lighter appetite.
The Caledonian Burger is a must-try. It features two beef patties, haggis, and whisky sauce, served with chips and onion rings. Prices start at £9.40 for the burger with a soft drink.
Tyler Hudson, the manager at The Quayside branch, shared that this celebration is a fantastic chance for customers to enjoy traditional Scottish food and drink. Plus, it lasts longer than just one day!
Several pubs in Newcastle are joining in, including The Five Swans and The Keel Row. Other locations like The Ritz in Wallsend and The Fire Station in Whitley Bay are also participating.
If you’re looking for more Burns Night events, there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the North East getting in on the action this January.
