New images aim to help identify a man found dead in Wark Forest, Northumberland, 35 years ago. Authorities seek public assistance in solving this cold case.
Northumberland: New pictures have been shared to help identify a body found in Wark Forest. This man was discovered on February 2, 1990, and has remained unnamed for decades.
He is believed to have been there for four to twelve months before being found. Some think he might be Christopher Oliver, an American, but this has never been confirmed.
Locate International, a charity focused on finding missing people, released a new image of the man. They call him the Wark Forest Man. He was likely between 20 and 40 years old and stood around 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.
When he was found, he had a “dark European ethnicity.” A facial reconstruction was shared in the news back then, leading to a possible lead from a hotel worker.
This worker thought the man resembled Christopher Oliver, who checked into the Bowes Hotel in October 1989. A book found near the body matched one missing from the hotel.
Reports suggested he stayed at another hotel in Haltwhistle shortly after. However, what happened to him after that is still a mystery.
The new images show him wearing two jackets: a green Vander anorak and a Lee denim jacket. He also had mismatched walking boots, blue trousers, and a black digital watch.
In his backpack, there were some interesting items, including a book titled *History of London* and two bottles—one with water and one with whiskey.
Locate International emphasizes that time is running out to identify him. They urge anyone who remembers Christopher Oliver or the man’s description to reach out.
Mark Greenhalgh, the CEO of Locate International, is asking for help. He wants to know if anyone remembers a North American-accented traveler in Northumberland back then.
For over 30 years, the Wark Forest Man has been without a name. No one should be forgotten, and they hope to uncover his identity with public help.
If you have any information, you can contact Locate International via email or phone. They are eager to hear from anyone who might know something.
