Benwell: A married man, Norman Little, sent explicit photos to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl. He didn’t know it was an undercover police officer.
Little, 58, claimed he was lonely because he and his wife were sleeping in separate bedrooms. He started messaging the “schoolgirl” on Snapchat, thinking he was chatting with a real teenager.
During their conversations, Little asked for photos of her in underwear and swimwear. He also sent explicit images of himself. Police tracked his messages and arrested him.
In court, Little pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. He received a 10-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.
The judge noted that Little’s loneliness didn’t justify his actions. Thankfully, there was no real 13-year-old girl involved.
Prosecutor Gurjot Kaur explained that Little communicated with the decoy almost daily for several weeks. He initially thought he was chatting with a girl named Chloe.
Little admitted he was 57 and acknowledged Chloe’s age. He even expressed concern about the danger of their contact. However, he still asked for inappropriate photos.
After sending explicit images, he was arrested a few days later. His lawyer mentioned that Little was remorseful and had been facing marital issues.
Along with the suspended sentence, Little must complete 100 hours of unpaid work, register as a sex offender for 10 years, and follow a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
