A man in his 40s and his dog were killed on the A1 in Berwick. Police seek witnesses to help with the investigation into this tragic incident.

Reports say a yellow Citroen DS3 was going north when it hit the man and his dog. They were on the road at the time.
Emergency services declared both the man and his Cocker Spaniel dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
The driver of the Citroen stayed at the scene and is helping police. They want anyone who saw the incident to come forward. Dashcam or CCTV footage would be especially helpful.
