Cork: This week, Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and Westlife’s Brian McFadden dropped by Cork. They were there to support Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland with a big donation of €25,000.

Since 2010, this charity has been training dogs to help families with autistic kids. It costs about €25,000 to train just one dog. So, Duffy’s donation will make a real difference.

While in Cork, they met Amelia Ryan and her assistance dog, Dodger. It was a lovely moment to celebrate the donation together.

David McCarthy from AADI expressed gratitude for the generous support. He mentioned how much time and resources go into training each dog. This funding will help them continue their important work.

The dogs learn commands to help keep their young companions safe. They stay with foster families but visit the AADI office daily for training.

These pups get to explore parks, beaches, and shops to get used to different places. When they retire at around nine years old, they usually stay with their families as pets.

Keith Duffy, known for his music and acting, has been a strong advocate for autism awareness. His journey began when his daughter Mia was diagnosed in 2002.
