A Glasgow woman is honoring her grandma. She is raising money for cancer research. Her grandma loved adventure.

Janice White was called “wee Jan Jan.” She lived in exotic places like Egypt. She died from lung cancer in 2020. She was 67.

Megan Walker is Janice’s granddaughter. She is raising money for Cancer Research UK. Megan is a nail technician.

Megan has a “nailathon” on April 5th at her salon called Beautsy by Meg. The salon is on Causewayside Street in Tollcross. She will work for 24 hours straight, and all money goes to charity.

Megan will do more fundraising in May with her mom, sister, and a friend. They will participate in a 5K race for life.

Megan said her grandma’s cancer was hard, and watching her decline was very difficult. She couldn’t even hug her during the pandemic.

Janice was more than just a grandma; she was a role model. Janice loved to travel and always wanted adventure. She called Megan her “golden nugget”.

Megan started her business eight months ago, inspired by her grandma. She wants to do nails for a good cause.

She will be at Beautsy by Meg on April 5th where people can chat and have tea. All treatment funds will go to Cancer Research UK, honoring her lovely grandma.
