Gentoo is set to invest in a new base in Sunderland, enhancing services for customers and staff by summer 2026
The new spot, called Eastgate Point, will be ready by summer 2026. It’s a huge project, covering 120,000 square feet. Promenade Properties is in charge of the development.
There will be trade units, an EV charging station, and even a drive-thru coffee shop. This area has seen many plans before, but nothing happened. Now, it looks like things are finally moving forward.
Back in 2019, the city council approved a builders merchants plan, but it didn’t go anywhere. Gentoo’s suppliers, Jewson Partnership Solutions, will also move to this new base.
They think working closely will speed up repairs and improve services for customers. Marc Edwards from Gentoo is thrilled about this new home for their property teams.
He mentioned they’ve been searching for the right spot for 18 months. This new facility will be top-notch, designed to bring everyone together.
Scott Cooper from JPS is also excited. He believes this will help them work better together and provide an even better service.
