John Baldwin has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend Eve McIntyre, who was found dead in their Gateshead home last August.
Eve was found dead in their flat with serious injuries. Baldwin attacked her with a meat cleaver and a knife. He initially denied the charges but later pleaded guilty.
Footage shows Baldwin boarding a bus after the attack, wearing Eve’s kimono and slippers. He was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 18 years.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Steel expressed condolences to Eve’s family. He emphasized the violent nature of the crime and the importance of justice.
Eve’s daughter, Ashton, shared her heartbreak in a statement. She described the pain of losing her mother and the impact on her life.
