He grew up near Newton Aycliffe Fire Station and admired the firefighters. He always wanted to help his community.
When he was old enough, Jonner became an on-call firefighter while juggling other jobs. In 2014, he went full-time and is now a watch manager.
Jonner believes on-call firefighters are essential for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service. They help keep the community safe.
His team includes mechanics, chefs, and paramedics who respond to emergencies when they can. They balance their full-time jobs with firefighting duties.
Jonner is proud to work with dedicated people who give their time to serve. They respond to emergencies and return to their regular jobs the next day.
CDDFRS is looking for more on-call firefighters living near its stations. There are 13 stations in total.
Jonner encourages anyone interested to apply. He wants people to know they will be welcomed, no matter their background.
