Durham: A Royal Marines Commando is gearing up for a couple of chilly dips. Michael Lloyd-Gent is doing this to honor his friend Tim Crossin, who sadly passed away after battling cancer.

Tim was a true inspiration. Before he died, he took on a challenge, dipping in 31 spots around the UK. He wanted to give back to the charities that supported him during his illness.

Michael is stepping up to keep Tim’s spirit alive. He’s set to dive into the cold waters at Bamburgh Beach and South Shields. These events are happening soon, and they’re all about celebrating Tim’s legacy.

Michael shared how close he was to Tim. They served together, and their bond was strong. Even after moving apart, they always felt connected.

He remembers the last dip they did together at Bamburgh. After Tim’s passing, his family asked Michael to carry on the challenge. He was more than happy to help.

Tim was the definition of a Royal Marine. His bravery and kindness inspired everyone around him. Michael is excited to honor Tim’s mission and hopes others will join in.

He encourages everyone to come out, whether to watch or take the plunge themselves. It’s all for a great cause, helping those affected by cancer, just like Tim wanted.
