Cork: The Cork School of Music just announced a new trophy. It’s named after Michèle de Foubert, a beloved teacher and singer. Sadly, she passed away last summer.

This trophy will be given each year to the top voice student at the school. It’s a lovely way to remember her impact on music and her students.

The trophy was presented to Professor Alistair Payne and Maria Judge by Michèle’s husband, David Shine. Friends from the Fleischmann Choir helped fundraise for this special award.

Designed by Ali Cullinane, a friend of Michèle, the trophy reflects her love for music. It even features a pause symbol, representing her beautiful soprano voice.

Michèle was more than just a teacher; she was a vibrant part of the music community. She inspired many through her performances and choirs. This trophy will keep her spirit alive for years to come.
