Cork: A young lad from Leeside has just made history! Leone Crowley, only 18, won the World Snooker Federation’s Junior Championships. He took home a stunning 5-0 victory against England’s Kaylan Patel in the finals held in Morocco.

His friends and neighbors in Ballyvolane are already throwing a party to celebrate his big win. Besides the trophy, Leone also snagged a World Snooker Tour card. This means he’ll get to play in top professional tournaments for the next two years.

Leone is set to kick off his professional career in the WST Championship qualifying rounds this April. He’s super excited about it! He said, “I can’t believe it—this is a dream come true.”

He’s worked hard to get here and feels honored to represent Ireland. Leone also thanked his family and coaches for their support. His dad, JP Crowley, is bursting with pride.

He mentioned how hard Leone has worked and how emotional this moment is for their family. The local community has been cheering him on since his journey began back in January.

Leone has been a snooker star from a young age, winning multiple national titles. He even took home the U21 UK Open Championship last year. What a journey for this young talent!
