Cork: The Cork County Council is on the lookout for school wardens. You know, those friendly folks who help kids cross the street safely. They’re hiring in North Cork, specifically in Charleville.

The job is to assist children before and after school. And guess what? The pay is pretty decent! You’ll earn €18.53 an hour, which is a nice bump above the minimum wage.

They’re looking for relief wardens at five schools. These include Shandrum National School and CBS Charleville, among others. You don’t need any special qualifications, but you will need to pass a Garda Vetting check.

Living nearby is a must, too. Your main task is to keep an eye on the kids waiting to cross. There are some rules to follow, like not interrupting parades or emergency vehicles.

This job is part-time and runs for the school year. If you’re interested, make sure to apply by 4pm on January 24. You can find the application on the Cork County Council careers website.
