The Royal Oak, Chesterfield’s oldest pub, is set to reopen after four years with new owners.
Patrick and Meg bought Ye Royal Oak. They are teachers and are excited. Owning a pub was their dream, and they are preparing to open. More news comes in a couple months.
Records show the pub dates to 1722. Some say it was built in the 12th Century. It used to be an inn, and the Knights Templar stayed there.
Meg said they love the Royal Oak. They wanted to buy and fix it, and now they own it. They are independent owners.
