Police in Newcastle are investigating a purse theft in Grainger Market and seek a woman seen on CCTV for assistance in the case
On October 9, around 12:30 PM, a woman was sitting in a café at Grainger Market. Someone stole her purse from her handbag, which was on the back of her chair.
The thief used her card to buy a train ticket and some items at a café in Central Station shortly after. Police have been following several leads since the report came in.
They believe the woman in the CCTV images might have helpful information. If you recognize her, please reach out to Northumbria Police.
