A man has been sentenced after police found his DNA at a burglary scene in Byker, highlighting the importance of securing homes and vehicles.
Police found his DNA on a bike left at the scene. Hall returned to the shop a week later but couldn’t get in. He was arrested shortly after.
Hall faced multiple charges, including stealing lead from buildings and cable theft. He admitted to several burglaries and was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
Inspector Craig Patchett from Northumbria Police said this was a great outcome. He emphasized the impact of burglary on victims and urged the community to stay vigilant.
