They want to connect two roads with paths and bridges. This project will link the A470 with the A55. The UK government gave Conwy money. This money will improve walking and cycling.

Part of the cash is for a new route, which will join the A470 to A55’s junction 18. Tesco and Cineworld are near that junction. Someone applied to the council last year.

The plan includes a wide, paved path that starts near Glan Conwy and the Black Cat garage. The path then crosses a railway and the Afon Ganol river. Two new bridges are necessary.

The path goes behind a wildlife site that belongs to the RSPB. Then, the path ends near a parking lot, which is close to the RSPB entrance and the A55. They already improved routes toward Tesco.

They will also fix the path by the Afon Conwy, which goes toward the A547. They will install fences, and lights will also line the route. Fences keep people out of the RSPB site.

Planners made a suggestion recently, and now a committee will discuss this report. The committee meets this Wednesday.

Planners said they might approve the project, but they have a few conditions. They need more information about flood risks, and they also want a plan to plant new trees.

The approval depends on consultation feedback, and any issues must be resolved quickly. The manager needs to be happy within three months; otherwise, they might reject it later.
